- 1/4 c melted butter
- 2 c flour
- 1 t salt
- 1 T baking powder
- 1/2 c butter or 1/3 c shortening
- 3/4 c milk
- Preheat oven to 425.
- Use some of the butter to grease a muffin pan.
- Combine flour, salt, and baking powder.
- Cut in butter till coarse meal.
- Add milk, a little at a time. Dough should be a little elastic.
- Put 2 heaping tablespoons in each muffin cup.
- Bake 6 minutes, then remove from oven and brush melted butter on tops.
- Bake 6-9 minutes more.
