Buttery Biscuits

  • 1/4 c melted butter
  • 2 c flour
  • 1 t salt
  • 1 T baking powder
  • 1/2 c butter or 1/3 c shortening
  • 3/4 c milk
  1. Preheat oven to 425.
  2. Use some of the butter to grease a muffin pan.
  3. Combine flour, salt, and baking powder.
  4. Cut in butter till coarse meal.
  5. Add milk, a little at a time. Dough should be a little elastic.
  6. Put 2 heaping tablespoons in each muffin cup.
  7. Bake 6 minutes, then remove from oven and brush melted butter on tops.
  8. Bake 6-9 minutes more.

Makes 12 biscuits.
