- 1/2 c orange juice
- 1 T grated orange zest
- 1/2 t vanilla (optional)
- 3 c confectioners’ sugar, plus more as needed
- pinch salt
- Combine all ingredients.
- Beat till smooth and thick as maple syrup — just pourable.
*Creamy orange glaze: Substitute 1/4 c cream for half the orange juice. Add 3 T very soft butter if you like.
*Vanilla glaze: Substitute cream, milk, or a combination for the orange juice. Omit the zest and increase vanilla to 1 t.
*Lemon or lime glaze: Substitute 1/4 c lemon or lime juice plus 1/4 c water for the orange juice. Omit vanilla.
